A new bus service will be the first to serve Brindle in years from the end of March.
The new 124 bus service will run every two hours from Monday to Saturday and visit Preston, Walton-le-Dale, Bamber Bridge, Gregson Lane, Hoghton, Brindle, Whittle-le-Woods and Chorley.
It is funded by a new grant from the government, is being introduced by Lancashire County Council and will be operated by Vision Bus.

Its introduction does not affect buses running on similar routes such as the 113 and 152.
Cllr Warren Goldsworthy, cabinet member for Highways and Transport at Lancashire County Council, said: “A new bus service launching on 29 March 2026 will significantly improve public transport links between Preston and Chorley.
“Funded by HM Government Bus Grant support, Service 124 will create new direct connections via Bamber Bridge, Gregson Lane, Hoghton and Brindle, helping communities along the route become better connected.
“The service will run every two hours, Monday to Saturday daytime, and will be operated by Vision Bus Ltd on behalf of Lancashire County Council.
“The service will operate in addition to the existing 113 service.”
It will be effectively introduced from Monday, 30 March, as there is no Sunday service.
The first service will depart Chorley Bus Station at 7.42am each day and the final service will depart at 6.12pm.
In the opposite direction, the first service will leave Preston Bus Station at 6.45am and the final service will depart at 5.15pm.
Services will start slightly later on a Saturday.
